Other important features of NetOp School are:
- Teach - Share
any screen with the class distribute and collect
work. With NetOp School you can instruct each
student individually, yet simultaneously. By broadcasting your screen
to the rest of the class, each student
effectively receives a front row seat and first-hand
instruction. And you don't have to worry about
students paying attention to your broadcast. NetOp School
allows you to lock student keyboards and mice
during presentations.
- Manage - Manage your
classroom and follow students as they work. It
is important for teachers to follow students progress
as they work. However, wandering around the class
can be both distracting and intimidating. With NetOp
School you can monitor all students at once
or individually from your own desk, and take
over a students computer easily to provide discreet
assistance.
- Control - Prevent students from
accessing websites or using specific applications. With NetOp
School you don't have to worry about students
accessing inappropriate websites or playing games instead of
working. You can apply policies to allow or
deny specific programs and web addresses. Policies can
be applied and changed on the fly to
match a teaching situation.
- Distribute -
Distribute and collect documents from students. Offline tests
and assignments can be distributed and collected from
all student computers at the touch of a
button. And students can place homework in esignated
folders for easy collection - far simpler than
receiving floppy disks or emails from each student.
- Test - Create and perform regular
tests 10 different question types. Use NetOp School's
powerful Test Center to appraise students online. Rapidly
prepare exams using the module's Wizard. Once ready,
distribute a test to all students simultaneously at
the touch of a button. Finally, correct and
score tests automatically for convenience and speed. You
can even generate electronic reports on each student's
performance, enabling immediate individual feedback.
- Communicate
- Visual contact with your remote students. NetOp
School now has video streaming capabilities to enable
teachers and students to see each other during
audio or chat sessions. Now, with the use
of a webcam, networked classroom attendees can engage
in video conferencing for remote training and distance
learning implementations. Additionally, teachers now have the ability
to take snapshots of their student's screens for
later discussion or for reprimanding students for the
improper use of their computers.
- Class
Management - The Netop School Class Server (PDF, 210 kb) handles communication between the
Teacher and Student modules and the database. Teachers
and Students using NetOp School on larger educational
networks will most likely participate in many classes
during the day. They may use portable computers
and move around, connecting from different parts of
the network (e.g. wireless access points) thus frequently
changing ip-addresses. The NetOp School Class Management product
automates these connections between NetOp School Teacher and
Student modules based on information in a central
database about classes, students, teachers and date and
time.
- 1-2-3 Wizards - Easy to Install, Learn and Use To provide easier navigation and usability, NetOp School now offers 1-2-3 Set-up Wizards that simplify some of the applicationï╗╚s more advanced features. Each wizard provides simple instructions for walking users through the necessary steps for configuring Teacher and Student modules, File Distribution and Collection, and the creation of tests.
Beside all
that NetOp School has a bumps of other
nice features. For instance the possibility to assign
workgroups. Within a workgroup a monitor may be
assigned to a specific student who can temporarily
receive teacher functionality. Offcourse the teacher can still
monitor that workgroup. Other features are annotating the
students screen, showing a students screen to other
students, the simultaneous launching of a program on
all student computers, remote student rebooting and clipboard
transfer. The teacher can ask for the attention
of all students by showing a message and
locking their keyboards and students can request the
teacher for assistance.
It is easy to assign
students to new classes and teachers can make
their classes available using a public server. The
teacher module can have different functionality and access
rights for each teacher, using e.g. Windows
Security Management for validation. NetOp School has extended
security features, such as encrypted communication, IP-level security
and central storage of student configuration data.
