While there are some advantages to this method there are some drawbacks as well. Retrieving the information into a usable format usually requires someone with advanced query language knowledge and access to the database. Also, only information that the client has collected is available. If you need information for a file or registry key the client has not been instructed to retrieve, the information is not available. Because of the periodic retrieval nature of the client there is also the problem of stale information. These problems generally keep businesses from utilizing the information resource.
