Linkable Policy
Templates
Applying policy templates (a group of predefined
rules) has never been this easy. With only
two clicks you can add and link them
to a large number of devices. This makes
it easy to change a rule on all
the devices after you have applied a policy
template.
Device Availability Rule
Device Availability rules functionality
include: Device Status and Response Time Counters and
Alerts and Availability reports.
Automatic Device Update
Changes
in your network are identified on Xian NM
so the running rules are automatically adjusted and
the data is automatically updated on OpsMgr 2007.

There are
several improvements in Xian Io NM R2. The
ones that have had the most impact on
functionality and performance are detailed below.
Automatic Topology
Discovery for Live Maps
Together with Savision
Live Maps it is now possible to automatically
create topologies of your network environment. Xian Network
Manager Io R2 provides the network topology information
obtained from the network devices that it monitors.
Live Maps uses this data to draw the
relations between the network devices and windows servers
that will be displayed on the OpsMgr console.
Custom Rules
Xian Network Manager Io R2 enables
you to add SNMP based rules quickly and
easily to monitor any additional desired aspects of
your devices that are not by default included
in our smart management packs lists or rules.
Smart Monitoring
Automatic Thresholds, Xian analyzes counters obtained from the monitored devices and automatically calculates the most appropriate thresholds for the rules monitoring them so no false alarms due to incorrect thresholds are generated.
Data Optimization, if the information retrieved from a monitored device node has a well defined trend, Xian Network Manager Io R2 will not send all its corresponding counters to OpsMgr but just a reference counter once in a while to avoid saturating OpsMgr with unnecessary data. Only data that interrupts with the trend will be sent to OpsMgr.
Object filtering, Xian Network Manager Io R2 also includes automatic object filters that prevents from registering all the nodes of a device into OpsMgr. With this feature only the monitored nodes are displayed on OpsMgr.
All these "smart monitoring features" optimize the way that Xian NM interacts with OpsMgr so that the communication performance is greatly increased. This makes it possible to properly monitor even more devices in a single Xian Network Manager environment.

The Jalasoft Xian Network Manager Smart Management Packs provide the intelligence to organize, process, and analyze the information on monitored devices into the views, computer groups, and reporting capabilities of Ops Mgr 2007 using the Xian NM Connector for Ops Mgr 2007.
